As part of our mission to celebrate all things children's literature and to advocate for local writers and illustrators, we established the CLH Hall of Fame in 2021 to honor local creators for their contributions to children's literature in Hawai'i.
Graham Salisbury is the author of twenty novels for young adult and middle grade readers set in Hawai'i. His publication successes showed children's writers in
Hawai'i that their stories could be successfully published not only locally, but nationally.
Tammy Yee is an author-illustrator who has published more than 36 fiction and nonfiction children's books in addition to several craft books. Her books are beloved by families throughout the islands and beyond.
James Rumford is the first inductee to CLH's Hall of Fame. As an author-illustrator, he has made significant contributions to children’s literature through multicultural stories, distinct artwork, and continued dedication to enriching youth literacy.
